DETROIT NEIGHBORHOOD ARTS PROJECT

CALL FOR ARTISTS QUALIFICATIONS

DEADLINE: September 28, 2018

Live6 Alliance is proud to announce an exciting new neighborhood focused mural project that will celebrate the community, it’s history, residents and their commitment. We seek an artist (or artist team) to document and enhance the original voice of the community through the design and installation of a new iconic public artwork in Northwest Detroit.

CONCEPT: This project is the second phase of the successful Detroit Neighborhood Arts Project (DNA) is focused on promoting walkability along commercial corridors.  Our focus is to bring community together in meaningful ways by encouraging healthy activity where people spend time together in public spaces.

This project, which occurs over 11 months and potentially engages hundreds of people, will unfold in phases commencing with an artist orientation the week of October 15, 2018 and continuing with a series of community meetings and activities throughout 2018 and 2019.  The project will culminate with the installations of new murals that will celebrate cultural appreciation and its legacy in Detroit and beyond.
